Directors' Conference 2008

 

Directors visiting Glendalough
This year IH Dublin hosted the annual Directors' Conference .  More than 120 Directors and guests from over 100 IH schools in 35 countries attended.Among the many distinguished external speakers we were fortunate to have Christine Nuttall and Adrian Kearney from Cambridge ESOL gave us an update on collaboration between Cambridge ESOL and IH.
Directors from more than 20 IH schools gave enlightening stimulating and enjoyable presentations on new trends in teaching and technology.
IH Dublin organised events and dinners in excellent locations.  The gala dinner was held in the Trinity College Dublin Great Hall - a very atmospheric venue which we all enjoyed

Director of Studies Conference London, January 2008

This year the annual DoS conference was held at the London South Bank University the first week of January.
Director of Studies from all over the world met to learn from each other and to standardise Internatiomal House performance in all five continents.
                                  

                                                         

 

 

Visita de  inspección de Mike Cattlin
 Cada 3 años todos los colegios IH del mundo reciben una visita/inspección de IHWO.  El objetivo es el de mantener en todas las casas iguales estándares de excelencia y las mismas normas de trabajo y códigos de conducta que exige IHWO.
El año pasado le tocó la visita a IH San Isidro en el mes de Junio.  El visitor fué Mike Cattlin, Academic Co-ordinator de IHWO.  La inspección duró 2 y1/2 días. Observó clases de todos los profesores en el Instituto y en nuestro Anexo: Colegio Nuevo de las Lomas.  Tuvo encuentros individuales con los directores, los profesores, personal administrativo y alumnos.  Revisó los materiales didácticos y administrativos, dictó un seminario de metodología.

IH San Isidro ganó 6 Points of Excellence en el área académico.

Resumiendo, su conclusión final  es, según sus propias palabras:

" This was a very positive experience for me; it was really good to see a small school which such a vast resource of experience and materials and with such a well-integrated and long- term staff of varied backgrounds and experience.  Quality with friendliness is a trademark of the school and all members of staff deserve credit for making it so."
