IH World is a British organisation, founded by John and Brita Haycraft in 1953 with the aim of teaching English and developing its teachers. Since then it has spread throughout the world.
The headquarters are in London and there are over 140 affiliated schools in more than 50 countries in 5 continents.
All affiliated schools are periodically subjected to a rigorous inspection on behalf of the London Head Office.
The global network of IH schools represents a shared wealth in terms of investigation, exchange of ideas and experience with expertly qualified teachers which benefits all the schools.
The objective of the IH World Organisation is the continual improvement in the quality of performance, through collaboration between the directors and teachers, the sharing of expertise amongst the schools and the constant development of teachers. All of this is achieved through constant communication as well as face-to-face contact at the various conferences, seminars and special courses in London, around the world and on-line.
The principal aims of the organisation are the following:
- To raise the standard of language teaching around the world.
- To facilitate understanding between countries through education.
